WHAT IS LUCIGO ISLAND?

In the middle of the southern Pacific Ocean sits an island so illusive that no one alive can claim they know how to reach it. Lucigo Island rests in its own reality, secluded from the rest of the world and untouched by man. This, however, does not mean it is vacant. Monkeys swing through its winding jungles, big cats swoop down to snatch their prey and morally bankrupt crocodiles wait at the watering hole for an unsuspecting creature to catch their eye. But of all the creatures inhabiting the wide stretch of island, none are so prevalent as the mighty equine. The story of the equine of Lucigo Island is one that has been passed down through many generations and over time its luster has been lost. There is no rhyme or reason to how the equine have come to control Lucigo's landscape but like with all things, it doesn't really matter. They are here now and that is the story worth telling. Peace had ruled the island for some time before it happened. The native equine had become comfortable in their way of life before they showed up. It seemed like a fairy tale that one day the fabric of their lives ripped apart and spit out a strange group of equine that knew nothing of Lucigo or even how they had come to call it home. The vortex, they call it, it was a strange force that gave them no choice but to adapt. This did nothing but upset the lives of those who were so rooted to the island that they spoke its own language, followed its own customs and breathed its fresh air. Trouble was on the horizon. Following the tragedy associated with the death of the forest, the resilient equine of the island have concentrated on rebuilding their lives. Foals are born, herds spend time together, no one daring to life for granted. Not now. The peace is nice but nothing gold can stay and it will likely only be a matter of time before they meet their next great challenge. The question remains whether they will stand together and survive or allow their differences to consume them while they all crumble.

Lucigo Island was created in August of 2009, a joint effort between Azende, Courtney, Dizz, Indigo, Jinx, Kyte, Lucy & Malerie to create a world where imagination can be unleashed freely without any of the baggage that seems to come along with it. You might not know how you got here but you will certainly be glad you came.
